PROFESSIONAL STUDIES

The goal of having a facility dedicated to visual and performing arts and culture in Johns Creek has long been a conversation among arts professionals, arts supporters, elected officials and other leaders in the community. Studies began in 2016 with a concept review by the Arts and Culture Board of the City of Johns Creek, followed by a 2017 survey and report on the cultural arts community in and near Johns Creek by the Cultural Arts Alliance at Johns Creek.

The three professional studies below were contracted during 2018 through 2020 to professionally assess the Need, Concept, and Feasibility of a Cultural Arts Facility for Johns Creek. At the time of the studies, a complex of facilities was referred to as the Legacy Center.

Also included below is the summary report of sessions of the Legacy Center Working Group appointed by the Mayor and meeting April to July 2022. Although convened to review the size, scope and scale, additional topics were also covered including a revisit of the components of the Legacy Center, its potential impact, and issues of funding and ownership/management scenarios.
